Merry Mimosa Tasting
Every Christmas my family has a wonderful Christmas tradition of waking up early to unwrap our gifts followed by indulging in a delectable Christmas brunch. And what is a traditional brunch without some mimosas you ask? Not a very good one. That is why this year I took to Pinterest for some new and festive Champagne/Prosecco recipes to give the customary mimosa some new friends at my families dining room table.
To make sure these morning concoctions taste as good as they look, I decided to have my own mimosa tasting. I enlisted the help of some of my elves to do all of the “hard” work for you. We made and taste tested these six mimosas and jotted down our thoughts.
First up this DELICIOUS apple cider mimosa from If You Give A Blonde a Kitchen. With a cinnamon sugar rim, and the winter taste of apple cider, you can't go wrong. We added a splash of vanilla flavored vodka for all you bad elves out there! We also added a cinnamon stick for a little extra garnish.
Next up was a beautiful sparkling pomegranate mimosa from Joyful Healthy Eats, and an Orange Cranberry Mimosa from Recipe Runner . Not only are these tasty, They are quite delightful looking too! Both simple, and perfect for any mimosa brunch! ( We suggest fresh pressed orange juice. A little more work, but a little more delicious)
If you're looking for something a little different, and a way to use all your extra cranberries, as well as the random Vanilla vodka you found in your freezer, A batch of vanilla Cranberry Mimosas Honey and Birch, is perfect for you! (middle mimosa below)
We ended our tasting with a Cinnamon Pear Mimosa from Recipe Runner, ( third mimosa in) and an all time favorite of my sisters and I, Champagne and Chambord! (Champagne with a splash of Chambord, topped with a blackberry.)
After all our hard work, my elves and I decided these are all great, and EASY, options for your own Christmas brunch or holiday celebration! If you can't decide on which to make or need a good party idea.. our advice is to do a tasting yourself! Just make sure you have Santa's sleigh on speed dial for a ride home ;)
